Gary Whisenhunt and I fished a couple of hours in the morning of Aug. 1 at Twin Oaks.  Not much to show for it, as it was slow from the beginning, and the fish were lethargic.  Tried quite a few baits, but a white chatterbait and a wacky rigged worm were the only two things that produced fish.  4 culls and 4 fish over 14”, with the largest at 2 lbs.  All of the fish were fairly healthy.  We decided to call it a day at around 8:30am.

This lake is always full, as I think it’s spring fed.  But the vegetation is starting to reduce the fishing area pretty significantly.  I’d say maybe 20% is covered by weeds, and pretty unfishable, except maybe with a frog (which they weren’t hitting on).  The vegetation is fairly normal for summer, so no big deal.

We’ll be back, maybe when the weather’s a little cooler, and the weeds have died back.
