We arrived around 7:30am and were on the water by 8. We hit the morning rush fishing swim jigs and caught many. Around 9am it shut off and we fished Ned rigs and drop shots. On a whim I decided to throw on a 6” cut tail green pumpkin swim worm and to my surprise this was the most productive lure in terms of size and quantity from 10am-4pm in the heat of the day. Other lures that produced were drop shots, ned rigs, and t rig soft plastics. We also threw in line spinners for old times sake and they managed to catch the 9 panfish but no bass so we stopped using them. Most fish were caught along the shore line and by the pieces of timber in the lake.
It was a great day! Although hot we really enjoyed it.
One thing to note about accessing the launch point...On the website it says long wheel base trucks with trailers may not be accommodated and that you might want to back down the hill with the trailer. I have a Ford expedition Max with a 14 ft trailer for 2 kayaks and I will say there is really no way to turn around at the bottom. Just plan to back down the hill and save yourself the trouble...I speak from experience;)
This by no means was a big issue but something I wanted to make others aware of.
