Fished the morning at Acker Lake.  Arrived first light and was greeted to a spectacula sunrise.  Winds were calm resulting in a layer of scum covering about a quarter of the lake.  However, it didn’t affect the fishing and once the winds picked up disappeared rather quickly.

First hour of fishing was great with seven fish caught on top water in the first hour including one at 3.1 lbs.

Bite died out by 8:00 a.m. as the sun and the temperature rose.  Switched to a swim bait and caught a few in the deeper parts of the lake.

Moved over to the trees with a weedless worm and had no bites.  Switched to a H&H spinnerbait and caught a few dinks out in open water near the weedbanks.

For the last hour before noon, I switched to a weedless crawdad bait and began fishing  the trees located in the deeper parts of the lake.  I caught 5 nice bass staged under one tree including the largest at 4.3 lbs and two more slightly over 3.0 lbs. I picked up a couple more close by once that location played out.

All in all another good Summer fishing day on a great lake.
