Fished Legacy Oak Saturday morning from daylight to about 11:00.  The weather was kind for an August day – gentle breeze and overcast.  We figured out early that the bite would be on soft plastics, specifically blue or brown pit bosses (craws), Texas rigged.  Caught a 3.4 pounder on the pit boss by the island within 10 minutes of launching, and that was the biggest of the day.  After that, the bite was sporadic, with no real significant areas of fish concentration.  But most of the fish were caught within 10 feet of the bank.  Caught a huge crappie by the tree stick up on the far end of the lake from the launch.  I didn’t weigh it, but I bet it was 2+ pounds.  Caught a total of 21 bass, and all but one of them looked healthy.  Great day to be out, even if it was August.  Might wait for it to cool off before going back!
