Reservation Number : 44419
Property Name : Sand Pit
Reservation Date : 08/26/2025 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 13
Lures Used : Foam slice frog/fly fish till 9:30 AM, then Texas rig worm light lead

Started out the day on the east side fishing the shadow of the Trees fly fishing was pretty much over by nine , Got the conventional bass rig out dredge the bottom had pretty consistent action, No fishfinder on my John boat in this lake it would definitely be an advantage to find the high spots. The previous guys have found.

Had fish to almost 3 pounds and one thing about the fish in this lake as they are healthy and fight like a bigger fish than they are, As previous members have mentioned, be careful backing down too close to the water at the Put in,

all in all fun place to fish I'll be going back with electronics next time, That would definitely speed up the search

Hey Dale, I got your message earlier today. I've been trying to figure out how to navigate to be able to reply to you
your question about send pit, it's great once you get inside the gate you don't go far and you turn left. You'll barely see a pattern of beat down grass and a little opening between the trees and as you back down, you get to kind of a crest about 100 feet maybe a little less from the water once you go down that it might be a little tough getting back up because it's sand,

I have an F250 super duty, four-wheel-drive and just figured to air on the side of caution stopped at the crest. I can pop by John boat out of the back of the truck, especially a little downhill and slide it right down to the water

always as usual when I come back in I tie a line on the boat and pull it up with my truck onto flat land and unload the gear, I was slightly over the crest and I did need four-wheel-drive to pull the boat up the embankment, I plan on going back by the way with some electronics to find those high spots out in the middle of the quarry. It's a large area. I might use a sinking line and drift some wet flies and see what I can do. I plan on going back soon. feel free to give me a call, if you'd like to join me one day if you have a kayak or a John boat, etc. probably be more comfortable. If we both had our own boat I plan on going out and looking for those spots in the middle. Have a feeling this time of year, the big guys might be laying low in the cooler, water My number is 714-608-3790

Thanks for the reply. I do plan on going there in the not to distant future. Going 5hrough a few medical issues right now but should be cleared to fish again hopefully sooner than later. I dohave a kayak with spot lock trolling motor and Livescope with other electronics so should maybe locate a few. I was curious on how the launch situation was.
