Another good AM at Horse Creek. Still a lot of local ducks it seems like. We shot a mixed bag, ringnecks, wigeon and a pair of redheads. We had our limit by 8:30, with lots of shooting. It seems like the ducks are getting smarter and know where the blind is set-up at. But that didn’t seem to stop the ringnecks from coming right in to the decoy spread.
The bigger ducks are landing on the SW corner of the lake. I got a call from John Lloyd who hunted this area Sat. and he had said the same thing. If you have a lay-out blind , or just want to hide in the weeds, the SW area(either on the west side, or up against the dam on the South below the road), which is shallow is a good place to set-up and mix things up a little.
