Slot Fish
My wife and I were entertaining some friends from Illinois for 4 days and it turns out that our friend is quite a bass fisherman. His personal best to date was a six pounder and the 9G didn’t disappoint. He landed a five and a half pounder and then this beauty of a 6 pound 2 ounce fish.
We caught somewhere around 12 fish total and the winds were just too much for us to handle. Typical winter baits were the ticket - rattle traps around the brush piles and texas rigs down deep. We didn’t catch one small fish which was a stark contrast to our previous day out at Welsh. My friend was having a great time catching these Texas bass but when it started raining, I finally convinced him it was time to leave. We fished from daylight to 10:45 am.
