Member Shaun Cobb and I fished Yate’s Place on Friday, 2-22-13. We harvested 9 fish under 16 inches.
I caught our big fish and it was 6.70.
I also caught a healthy 4.49. Shaun landed fat 4.0 as well.
Total: 12
Water temp was about 49 degrees. Some fog blew in overnight…so the morning bite was not on. It was very overcast early..not sure if that was the reason, but they were not chasing bait early. We caught most of our fish after the sun broke through after lunch. The fish were busting shad on top most of the afternoon.
The cabin is the nicest one we have stayed at thus far. Very clean and spaceous. We met Mr. Yates as well. A very gracious host and super nice guy.
“Sassy” the dog also roams the property…we got there late and she came down to the dock to greet us. Very sweet dog…not to worry. She did make off with a bag of our jerky that we had laying next to our tackle…so be advised…she doesn’t look very fast…but you will not catch that pup once she gets it in her mouth!!
An awesome time on all accounts. We will be returning to Yate’s Place again very soon.
