Slot Fish
Memeber Nick Fowlkes and I headed out to the 9G at daybreak on 3/6. The north wind was COLD!! But it soon died down and we had sunshine and a light breeze out of the east. Soft plastics and crankbaits caught most of the fish. We boated somewhere between 15 and 20 with one one dink that needed to be culled. As you would expect, throwing to the shallows yielded males and Nick pulled a four and a half pounder out of the deep and she had a gut on her that was about to pop. Most fish were around two pounds. Texas rigged watermelon red plastics and lipless cranks of all colors were what worked best. Staying out of the grass is the biggest obstacle. It was a nice day to be out fishing!
