Guest and I fished on a cloudy, windy Saturday afternoon in clear water (typical east tx tea colored) of 69 degrees at a good level. Caught 2 at 3 1/2 lbs on Tx rig and wacky style and a couple of smaller ones and lost two (big ones of course).

This lake has more timber not just standing but underneath the water than you can imagine. Didn’t catch anything with an exposed hook except timber. Met owner when we got off the water.  He is a Cardiologist in Shreveport thus origin for ranch name - Heartland. He wants members to catch fish so told us where and what to fish with this time of the year.  Fish the north shore with senkos (they prefer cotton candy) and power craws rolled over timber and then reeled back like a swim bait.
