Fished Yates Place on Friday 3/29 and Saturday a.m. If you have been a part of the club for while and haven’t fished Yates then what are you waiting for? You joined the club to have the quiet solitude of fishing a trophy lake without the traffic of public waters didn’t you?
We caught 26 fish and felt that the bite was slow. Our biggest were 6.25 and 5.5 lbs respectively but every cast seems like it could be the one.
On previous trips, (all of which I felt the bite was slow) Our biggest have been an 11.5, 10.4, 7.2 and like this weekend, several fish over 6. I always whine about the bite being slow but where can you produce catches like that?
If you don’t have a double digit, come out here and get you one.
Weather cooperated perfectly for this trip. We had a storm blow through around 5:am on Saturday morning but it didn’t affect our trip because we were safe inside the cozy confines of the first rate accommodations. Once it calmed, we walked down 20 steps, wiped down the boats seats and started back up with our day. Try having that same experience on Fork.
The great news is that there are signs that fish are just starting to move up shallow (NE bank) and due to our poor performance their mouths can’t be that sore. Call the club and get your reservation set up.
Mr. Yates has a few open dates and it may be your chance of a lifetime to catch your personal best…......Good Luck and Good Fishing!

I can also testify Yates is a first class lake and accommodation. One of the nicest in the club. I like playing with Sassy, their dog as well, but don’t start playing fetch unless you plan to keep playing fetch.
