A friend and I had a good afternoon fishing at Thomson Ranch. We fished from the bank and had a lot of fun and the fishing was good as well.
We fished for a little over 4 hours and caught 16 fish between us.
I caught one large fish that (according to bass resources fish weight calculator would weigh 10.4 lbs.). ( 24.5 inches long and 17 3/4 inches in girth.) This would be my personal best if I am doing the conversion right!
Four fish over 14 inches and 11 fish less than 14 inches that we harvested.
Most of the fish were caught on a floating rattle traps.
We tried worms, lizards and craw fish as well.
The big fish was caught on a worm
The smaller fish were really hugging the bank within one foot of the shore whereas the larger fish were a little further out.
Water was a bit milky, I suppose from wave action but this didn’t seem to deter the fish.
