My wife wanted to spend her b’day at Martins Mill.  We blew in Saturday afternoon thanks to the gusty winds.  Covered the entire lake and threw all we had.  At 5:40 the feeder released and the water exploded!  Around 6:30 I finally got a bite on a rattletrap.  Tough fishing.  Saturday, caught and harvested 3 bass and 1 slab crappie - all on rattletrap.  At the dam, my wife had a large bass on the line that broke off near the boat.
Sunday a.m. we fished hard again.  Around 10:30 we each caught a bass.  Harvested those as well.
Water is up and clarity about 24”-30”
The cabin has been remodeled and the landowners did a fantastic job!

Your wife wanted to go bass fishing for her birthday?

Has she got a sister?

Can you belive it? We acctually went to the Brazos River two weeks before so she could practice her fly casting. The only problem is she is starting to catch more fish than me.

PS Her sister wouldn’t know which end of the rod to hold.

Having a wife that fishes is such a blessing! Susan is my fishing partner by default. I don’t fish to get way from my wife like some guys do. I fish to do something fun and memorable with her. It’s a win-win for us!
