Mark - Thanks so much for the great input. And a belated congratulations on that whale of a bass you caught there not too long ago. I imagine that was the thrill of a lifetime! Hoping to hit a similar one in the head next week. Thanks again.

Son and I fished last Saturday AM - mostly fly fising but I did some convention fishing as well. We fished mostly north end of the lake. Half day is too short but son had to get back to work. I was trying topwater, fluke and wackly worm. Caught 5 fish - none of size. On way back to dock down west side of lake there appears to be a good area with lily pads and then grass and then a sharp drop off. Son saw a large bass there but couldn’t catch it. Good luck.

I fished there on 5/4. There was so much vegetation I was getting frustrated. Over half the lake is covered and it is very shallow on the North end. The owner said as I arrive that it is more of a duck hunting lake than a fishing lake and that turned out to be the case for me. I agree with Mark on the top water frog, unfortunately, I didn’t have one at the time. I personally didn’t like it but hopefully you have better luck.

I have fished the property twice. I know that its not that deep of a lake overall. There is a creek running down the middle of the lake. I could only find 12ft max depth with my portable fish finder. Lots of grass/pads. I fished earlier this year, I thought to my self that once the summer comes on this might be the ultimate topwater lake (frog) because of all the lili pads. This time of the year I would probably start off with a frog. If that didnt work I might then try throwing worms in the creek. When I fished there I did really well with a 3/4 oz Mann’s 1 minus in the Glowing red color. I also use a SPRO Little John MD in the citrus shad color, I would reel it down slowly until I felt it hit weeds and then let it rise…then repeat..did really well. And of course an unweighted Watermelon green senko( I have done well everywhere I have fished in club waters with the unweighted senko). Good luck, there are some good fish in that pond.
