I fished Thursday night, camped, and fished Friday morning. This is a beautiful property. I was promptly greeted by the landowner’s dog, who seemed as happy to be there as I did. The water is very clear, but there is a LOT of vegetation (and snakes).

After reading some of the past reports, I decided to bring my ultralight spinner and a few crappie jigs. I caught all of the crappie out by the tree on the little island. It was a fun change of pace, until I hooked a two lb. bass—And the fight was on! That was my favorite catch of the trip until a 4 1/2 pounder hit my top water plug Friday morning.

I caught all fish on red/black Yum Dinger, weighless pumkin seed floating craw, white spinnerbaits, and top water plugs. I tried shallow crankbaits, but the veggies made it tough. I brought my kayak, but did use the bass buster and trolling motor provided. That really helped out since the wind was pretty gusty at times.

It rained on me a little both days and was a little warm for camping Thursday night, but overall it was a great time. The fish are healthy and strong. I will definately be back!

Total catch: 5 bass/ 7 crappie harvested
8 bass released. The largest was 4 1/2 lbs.
