Fished Rock Chimney on Sat. 15th of May. By the end of the day I had caught 20 bass. Started late, 8:30 am, fished with a buzz bait out of a kayak until about noon and caught 13, the biggest being 2.5 – 3 lbs. Wind got up around 10:00 am, but the buzz bait compensated for it by all the noise it makes coming across the rough water; as my fishing partner was using a tiny torpedo and only caught 3, but one was 1.5 pounder. Went into town to eat, but then bad weather kept us off the water until 4 – 4:30 pm. Fishing from the bank, I started using a plastic watermelon colored crawdad and caught another 2.5 – 3 pounder off it along with 4 smaller ones, then around dark switched to a double bladed chartreuse spinner bait to catch my last two.  It seems that baits that were making noise or large vibrations were attracting them that day. I caught one of the big ones within 5-8 feet of that big pole about 8 feet off the bank right where you park when you go thru the gate that you have to open yourself.  The other big one was off the point where the small pavilion is, after you cross the dam. That area produced four of the fish I caught, the rest were as I kayak along the bank just off the weed beds. If I had been there at the crack of dawn, I feel I would have doubled my morning catch. I missed a lot of bites using the buzz bait by dragging it too fast across the water. Had maybe 10-12 hits and misses that way. So I tried to remember to slow down, yet fast enough to make a lot of noise and that is when I would hook them.
