We stayed Friday and Saturday night June 14-15.
Started fishing early on Saturday dawn and couldn’t find the fish. The brush piles yielded few bites. So we took the fishing boat and anchor they have there and set down in the middle of the lake and that’s where the fish were located about 12 feet deep.
I tried a multitude of tackle, both top water flies and poppers, to the very bottom. They were just a foot or two off the bottom. Almost all were caught on a dark red brown clousser minnow. I had it on a line where the last ten feet sank at a measured rate and I let it sink for a count of twelve to fifteen before stripping the line back.
The bass were great but the two blue gill were huge! They were deep in the middle as well.
As for the lake, That night of the June 15th a storm stalled out over us and dumped rain for four hours. The 16th the lake looked to have risen about a foot.
