My wife and I hit the water at 6:00AM but the topwater bite didn’t develop.  So we changed to soft plastics and caught 16 bass, largest 3.5.  Harvested 10.  It was the morning prior to a full moon, intermittent clouds until 11am, air temp in mid-80s, water temp 89 degrees.  We missed several good strikes.  A word of warning, though, that the lake is getting low and you have to be very careful where you fish.  It’s impossible to “circle the duck blind” now, which was routine in the spring.  Suggest not fishing until you get past the second pylon, where the water deepens to 4-6 feet.
