I have been anticipating fishing this lake from the minute I joined the club for some reason. I think it is because of the size and having good deep water always is a good combination for producing big bass. It is a yet another beautiful site tucked away in the hill country. The conditions were partly sunny, hot and overcast with storms in the forecast all weekend. Water clarity was about two foot with a nice green tint to it. Fishing time was 12:30 till 8:00 PM. Boat is very comfortable to fish out of and handled the wind quite well. The wind was brutal and white capping most of the day, which limited me to fishing mostly one side of lake. I toughed it out and managed to catch 26 bass and probably lost half a dozen. Couldn’t catch any size and the biggest fish were only 15 to 16 inches. Lures used were jig, brush hog, tube jig, crankbait and buzz bait. I see the reason for the mandatory keeping of fish for there a lot of small bass here. This site has to potential to be an outstanding trophy lake with time and management. I may have just hit it on an off day because I know there has to be some monsters on this lake. It looks too good. I will be back on hopefully a calmer day. Another great site.
