Fingerling
My fishing partner and I caught 18 bass and a crappie in the AM. Weather was perfect. 68 degrees at launch and 85 degrees when we quit at noon. Cloudy overcast prior to a front moving in. Water temp 82 degrees. Early topwater bite produced 5 of our bass, including my partner’s 3.9 lb. largemouth on a Zara Spook. Then we fished the remainder of the morning at the dam, but I caught my 6-pounder at the north end of the lake on a baby brush hog. We harvested 10 fish. Talked with the Ranch foreman who we know on a first-name basis. If you catch bass that are 14 inches or less or any crappie, and plan to harvest the fish, do not clean or toss anywhere close to the boat ramp! Just toss them on the north shore opposite the launch area and the birds will enjoy the hors d’oeuvres.
