I had a business trip to Houston this week and took the opportunity to fish Thompson Ranch on the afternoon of August 20th.

I just want to first thank everyone who provided info on the Houston properties and I am very happy that I selected this one.

I bank fished Thompson Ranch from 2:45 until 6:30 and caught 14.  I culled 5 and most of the others were in the 1-2 lb range. Around 5PM on the far bank I landed the 8lb 14 oz monster. 

Most of the fish were caught on shallow to medium diving crank baits in the following colors:
- chart./green
- crawfish

I also caught several on a rattle trap in olive/red.  Most were caught along the banks with the majority to the right of the pier and in the cove to the right of the pier.

The monster was caught on a deep diving crank bait in green/black/chart.

The water was very stained.

This is a great new property and can be easily banked fished.
