I’ve actually never gotten “bored” by catching fish but by 10:30am my left thumb was raw from lipping bass. I would guess I caught over 40 - but I lost count. A bunch were hogs. Didn’t have a scale but my guess is most released were 2-3lbs plus. Caught one big boy. I measured him against my rod and got out the tape measurer when I got home - 23”! I have no idea what the weight was but he was VERY fat. Would have been a great mount. All fish were very healthy and the larger ones were all on the “heavy” side. You can tell they eat well.
I tried out a few top waters/poppers early on but wasn’t getting much luck. Switched to my go-to white spinner bait and the bite was on. Fished mostly the north tip and the east side where it is fairly shallow.
Lots of snakes but they left me alone for the most part. The grass is still tall so keep your eyes open for them. One recommendation would be to move the boat to another location, maybe close to the spillway. It’s up on a fairly steep incline. It’s easy to get down but a bear to get back up. To get it back up I tied the rope to my hitch to pull it with my truck. The boat is in good shape but I don’t know how long it will last after being drug up those rocks.

A 23” fish at normal weight is a bit over 7 lbs. A 23” fish at 120% of realtive weight is over 8 lbs. Due to the fish management at this lake the large fish (over 19”) are all 120% of relative weight. Congratulations on a great fish.
