I duck hunted Horse Creek on 11/9/13. It was not a great day weather wise since it was warm and cloudy with a south wind.
The lake had received significant rainfall in the previous weeks which has certainly helped. As mentioned in some of the fishing posts, there is a significant amount of moss on the lake. You must get some distance away from the bank to place your decoys outside of the moss.
There is a permanent blind on the property but I hunted with layout gear.
Duck numbers were limited. I killed 2 gaddies and 1 widgeon. Last year, there were more divers than I saw on the 9th.
As I packed up to leave, my truck would not start. I had left the headlights on while setting up. The owner was contacted, purchased jumper cables and brought them out from town to help me. She was the definition of the good Samaritan. Thank you for helping me. John
