There were a lot of ducks flying near the blind on the property. I set up, however on the opposite end in the timber. Since the ducks all appeared to be divers, I left them alone and did not move. I did not see what I was after, so I left empty handed. (I saw an 8 point while I was leaving the lease, and that was worth the price of admission.) Somebody near by was doing a lot of shooting. In the Tyler paper, there is an article on Hidden Lakes Hunting Resort in Yantis. I have hunted Pheasants there, and they also have quail (all pen raised). They are guiding on private lakes in Hopkins County near ours. I am guessing they are the ones doing the shooting. The article says they have been seeing lots of gadwall, widgeon, some pintail, and a few mallards. The guide says it has been a good year for them so far and they expect better when the season reopens on Dec. 21st. The article says they are hunting near a submerged wheat field.
