Wind was calm in the A.M., no strong bite until wind picked
up a little at about 10. I think crappie were pecking at the
tail of my worm most of the day. Once again, my catches
were on purple/black worm and black jig. Landed 8; 3 bass
and 5 under-sized crappie. wind picked up to 15-20 mph. in
afternoon; blew me off the water again. Wish someone would
offer some tips on this pond, like where and how to best fish
this lake: I’m completely open to suggestions!

Joel:  My fishing partner and I have been fishing Weston for three years.  We’ve had good luck in the two coves and along the dam with topwaters in the spring.  Also, there is a 10-foot-deep drop-off along the east side of the lake, about 25 feet from shore which almost always produces.  Otherwise, I’d circle each of the brush piles that are marked by the PVC pipes in the middle of the lake, and bounce jigs off the bottom.  Good luck.  Bob Cantin
