At 6:30 am I’m on the bank, N.W. wind @ 5 to 10, sun is up but with a nice cloud cover, really excited because I’ve fished this lake before with great success. Throw top water from shore @ 20 mins—- nothing, so into the boat and on the water. Start with mid sized spinner—no, switch smaller—-no. Throw 10in. worm, 4in worm, craw, jigs, cranks and 2 hours later get a bump on a shorter worm. Good fish @ 21/2 to 3 and healthy but very little color. Thorw on the bank and out, throw deep—- want to throw up but a hour and a half later my second bump on a craw and another healthy 21/2 plus strong fish, again with very little color. Hour or so later I’m leaving with two fish and questions about how a beautiful day, on a great lake, with known fish population can yield so little catching. Is it “just fishing’, threw enough casts I should have caught something by accident——- nothing. WHAT’S GOING ON?

John - I fished this place on Memorial day and have almost the exact same story, fished from 6:30 until 11:30 and caught 2 fish about 2.5 lbs and very little color.  There were several cows in the water stirring things up on one end.  Tried everything and at a variety of depths and caught them both on soft plastic.  It’s like my Brother says - they can’t all be top 10 days.
