Once I found my way to the lake I had a great day.  Fish were exploding on top water from the bank out to 4 feet in depth.  Problem was hooking and keeping on line.  Caught a total of 12 ranging from 2-4 lbs. but lost that many more at the boat or could not set the hook at all.  I think fish on beds were just slapping the bait away.  Multiple casts to same spot would result in multiple reactions.

Seems like magic depth was around 4 feet but I found this depth all over the lake and caught fish in most places.

For those familiar with the lake maybe my problems getting in are mine alone.  Once I went in the main gate at county road and drove down the lane, there was another set of gates across the road and wired together.  I finally found a gate immediately to the right of gate at county road and had to basically drive through the working pens to get back to the road going to lake.
