My two sons and I fished the morning of June 4 at Timber Lake and had another great fishing experience at this site.  Caught around 40 bass - most in the 2-3 lb. range and lost a couple of much larger fish.  The first hour we had some of the best top water action I can remember.  Also caught several on spinners, lizards, crank baits, and sinkos.  Seemed just about everything we threw had some success.  Was concerned about the heat, but skies stayed cloudy well into the morning which I think helped the fishing. Used both aluminum boats - which is a great plus in choosing this site.  Only wish the drive from Ft. Worth wasn’t so long…makes for a very early morning to catch the early bite.

The Sulpher Bluff lakes fish very different. An option would be to fish one in the afternoon, spend the night in Sulpher Springs (only 20 minutes away) and fish the other in the morning. What a great way to spend a couple of days. With the fish managment practices (addition of tilapia, bluegill, fertilization and harvest) that have been employeed at these lakes you will see marked improvements at these lakes. I fully expect the average size bass caught at timber lake to be in the 3-4 lb range next spring with the chances of catching several 5 to 7 lb fish on each trip. Timber lake is simply one of the best club lakes and I full expect it to compete with any lake we have in the club. We only have a handful of reservations here a month and those that go, love it.
