Member John Bedore and I had a great day of fishing at Bennett Lake on Saturday 3/29.  We fished for about 6 hours and caught 90 bass.  We caught them on a variety of lures but Carolina rigged Lizards and other soft plastics accounted for the bulk of our catch.

The lake is filled to overfull and the fish were hard fighting.  Biggest bass were in the 5 pound range.  Water was clear and the wind started out gusty and them went dead calm for the last hour and a half.

The fish were a little on the skinny side compared to most of the other lakes I have fished this spring.  Fish of similar length were registering almost a pound lighter (for 20-22 inch fish) than Post Oak or San Saba.  Nevertheless the fish fought hard and were aggressive.
