Got on the water around 7:30 am on May 3.  Air temp in high 40’s and steam coming off lake.  Three fish on first 5 casts with a PopR and a fourth got off at the boat.  Topwater bite really slowed down once the sun got higher in sky.  But able to catch 30 plus up to 4 lbs on plastics cranks and jigs while looking for crappie.  Probably half were under 16” and a couple under 10.  Saw two big girls still hanging around beds but spooky and could not get them interested. Caught fish from against the bank to twelve feet.  Able to take home 11 decent crappie.  Finally caught a channel cat.
