Sorry for the delay in getting a report.  Work, kids, wife…..life in general.  We had to stop at Walmart in Sulphur Springs to get shoes for her as we left so early that she went from bed to the truck and they got lost in the process.  Story of my life…...

Took my 9-year old out with the neighbors bass buster and my old reliable Min Kota trolling motor.  The lake was really low, but according to Steve it had filled up some from the late May rain in the area.  The launch was pretty tough as the shallow water and combination of weeds, grass made the going pretty challenging until we got to deeper water.  I didn’t really spend much time looking around the lake for a better spot.  We just drove down below the old boat house by some of the submerged tires and tile and put in there.

We had an absolute blast catching Bluegills on Berkley crickets around the submerged timber.  It was all I could do to keep up with her.  She caught the first fish, the last fish and the most fish.  But…..Daddy caught the biggest.  I hooked into a 6.5 lb. bass trolling with a swim bait while I was untangling one of her snags.  Water clarity was at least 2’ when we were there, don’t recall the temp.

All my daughter could say is…“Daddy, I REALLY want to catch a bass!”.  I think she is hooked…....We also had a blast sneaking up on the huge carp/drum or whatever that would school up in various places.  She got pretty good driving the boat.

Total for the 4-hour day was 3 bass, 1 crappie and I haven’t a clue of how many bluegill.  Turned em’ all loose to fight another day.
