This was my first trip to this lake, and while the water is low and the lake probably isn’t at its best right now, my buddy Clff and I enjoyed the trip. I have a lot of other club lakes to fish, but I think I’ll be back to this one again, especially if it catches some rain!
Cliff lost a lipless crankbait to a snag on his first cast of the day, which could have set the tone, but didn’t. He picked up a small bass a short time later, which did establish a pattern. For most of the morning we caught largemouth from 5” to 14”, with no discernible pattern. They hit pumpkin finesse worms, pumpkin u-vibe worm, a Yellow Magic Pop-R (the 5” fish hit this) and a yellow spinner. Toward the end of the morning we tried some other lures such as chatterbaits, buzzbaits and lipless cranks but didn’t have any luck with them.
Cliff caught a huge crappie late in the morning, so long that at first we didn’t recognize it as a crappie. Ten minutes before quitting time I caught a bass that would was close to 5# on a u-vibe worm. That proved to be the largest fish of the morning and a fitting closer to the visit.
Next time I’ll try to remember that the previous member posted that purple/red creatures work well at this lake.
One point to consider if you plan to visit this lake. We were greeted by 6 large dogs, all barking and some growling. They proved to be all bark and no bite, but they could be intimidating to people who don’t care much for dogs.
Thanks to the land owner for access, and to Private Water Fishing for managing this awesome club!

We visited this place too and were greeted by these dogs! Bring some doggy snacks; they’re pretty friendly.
