To say this place is amazing is to short it some. Here are 2 pictures of me with a fish well over 10# from Friday 10-3 pm.

We got there Friday about 1, found our cabin and got moved in. We found Faye and got square on how we were to access the boats, got everything underway and 4 of us went fishing. We caught some small bass and we caught some good bass, but it was windy so we looked for some sheltered water. Then I caught this monster in one of the sheltered coves. A little gold Ricoh in about 24 inches of water at about 6:40pm. He tail walked a couple of times and took drag for several minutes. This is by far the largest bass I have ever caught. WOW!

Saturday the wives went to Canton for the day and my guest and I wore it out, but it was slow. We started out fairly steady, but as the day wore on we had to really work hard for the fish; maybe one per hour. It picked back up again in the late afternoon and we caught some to harvest and some solid bass as well. We threw top water early and late, and crank baits and some plastics late morning to late afternoon. The day turned out beautiful and the wind layed, but it turned from NE in the morning to Westerly at midday to SSE in the late afternoon. So we had some trouble finding the fish and figuring out what they wanted.

Sunday morning the wind came back but the water and air temperature had stabilized so we found some good fish early and stayed on them until it was time to go watch the game. Our guests left after the game and my wife and I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cool afternoon, cooked some steaks and chilled. We woke this morning about 6 to a BIG thunderstorm, which we enjoyed watching come in over the lake while we drank coffee. It was a great lightning show and there is something to be said about the sound of a heavy downpour on a metal roof. It was truly the icing on the cake to top off our wonderful weekend.

This may be one of the most beautiful pieces of property I have ever seen. The lake, the accommodations, and the people are all fantastic. The setting is breathtakingly beautiful. No expense has been spared in creating this magnificent ranch. While we did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners, Faye and Frank doted on us and we loved every minute of it. The owners did come in for a couple hours Sunday afternoon but were not there long and we didn’t get the chance to see them.

We will be back and would HIGHLY recommend this ranch to anyone for as little as fishing an afternoon, to taking the wife for the weekend, to entertaining clients, all the way to planning a wedding or large family function. The Lodge specially built for those type functions is incredible.

I will also tell you that Private Waters Fishing is doing a fantastic job in helping transform this lake. We got the chance to really observe what you are doing for this fishery and it is the only way to go for lakes of this type that aspire to trophy status. Good plan and Good job!

Thank you from the McKinney family!
