I fished both Hart Lakes on Tuesday, October 7th, and although I did catch a 5-04 (on a homemade 8” lizard) and two 3s (both on a Brown/blue Biffle Bug) in Lower Hart, the extreme amount of submerged vegetation in the lake limited me to fishing maybe 2 acres of the lake at most….probably closer to one. I kept trying, but didn’t manage to do any good….only a couple of dinks that I harvested. After fighting the weeds with my trolling motor for a couple of hours, I finally gave up and moved to Upper Hart. [On the way, I did see 4 black and white feral hogs and a couple of dark little ones running away.] On the upper lake, I did quite a lot better. No big fish, but using wacky-rigged Senkos in 12-14’ of water out from the dam, I did catch 25 bass between 2.5 and 3 pounds. Caught only a couple more dinks, which were harvested.. Water temperature on both Hart Lakes was 72° at trolling motor depth.
