Had the opportunity to fish this location as my wife was attending a convention on Houston.

Took the advice of John who has fished earlier in the week and had about 6 good strikes on senkos rigged wacky.

After the 6th got off, I decided to check the hook for sharpness and found it did not have a barb (legacy from my last trip to Saba).

Lesson learned.

I did catch 2 (around 2 lbs each) on a weighted senko w/ spinner tail and the other on a paddle tail.

Water level is good

i usually try to fish most the time on all our lakes with out a barb, or at least squash the barb down .. lots of hooks now days have such large barbs on them.. i dont know for sure but some of our lakes used to require barbless hooks.. is that still the case Steve?

San Saba is the only lake that requires barbless hooks. And only when using soft plastics.
