Fished Weston SW for the first time Monday.  Launched at 5:45am, and in 20 minutes caught two on a buzzbait - a 3.5 and one near 5lbs - and missed two.  Caught a few on the flyrod, then the bite slowed when the sun hit the water.  Landed a couple on a crankbait and a 5lb fish on a jig on the sharp dropoff just off the posted brushpiles in the middle.  Caught nine or 10 in 5+ hours.  Not great numbers, but most were pretty solid fish.

This pond sits below a beautiful ranch house on a well-tended property.  The boat is watertight and comfy.  And in my 7 years or so in the Club, this property has the about nicest gate I have ever seen.  That’s one sweet gate.
