My dad and I fished Yates Place Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. As always, Mr. Yates was a gracious host and shared with us that the lake was WAY up, in fact going over two spillways. Water was level with the dock if that gives you an idea of how up the lake is currently. Biggest fish Friday was 4-11 caught by pops. Saturday morning I managed to catch a 6-11 (picture below).
All but a few fish were caught on the exact same lure - an Avocado Fire Tail Fluke. We missed quite a few fish too: I had a blowup on a buzzbait that looked like it would've gone 8lbs. Hated to miss that one! Pops had a 6+ get off right at the boat.
Weather was completely gray and overcast - we never saw the sun once. It misted off and on both days, never fully raining but we needed our Frog Togs nonetheless. Had a great time and definitely want to return when the water temp is up!

Looks like a great weekend Zach. That fish you are holding is THICK. Great job. I'm looking at the background….... Wow that lake is full!
