I fished this property on the morning of 10 Jul and caught about 10 bass all less than 14”.

Since I got there early, I used top water in the shallow channel all the way around the left bank.  A black/yellow Hendron torpedo prop bait worked best (got my first double on it).

After the top water bite died, I fished in the cove with the steep rock bank just around the left corner from the launch site.  The water was very clear and I used a deep and medium running crank bait, fished fast and erratic, and had good success.

That area is about 12-15 ft and then I finished fishing directly across from the launch site, again with deep and medium running crank baits.  The color they liked that day was black/green/chart.

Bill,

thanks for the report. Sounds like the fishing was a bit slow, but I trust the beauty made up for it. this is one beautiful lake. Did you pull the 10 fish out of the lake? We are harvesting fish from this lake and want all fish 14” and under taken out. It will be difficult getting these fish to 8 lbs without harvesting the little ones first.

Yes I placed all in the lower tank.  The fishing was not really slow, but nothing big.  I did have a great time.  Next time I think I’ll try the right-hand area in the morning and the center of the tank after that bite dies.

I fished this tank a couple of years ago.  Basically the same results but we did manage a few big Bass in the center of the lake on Silver Rattletraps.  The owners grandson I saw him catch a 6 pounder in the middle on a rattletrap.  I had two breakoffs on 15 pound test on white spinner with willow blades.  These breakoffs were on the strike.  I was thinking Gar but saw no Gar activity.
