We had a difficult day at Fannin. The road to the cabin was good, but launching one of the provided boats was very difficult for two men.
The water level looked 5-6 feet low, the fish feeder is far from the water, the docks are unusable, and the bank is very soft and slippery. Launching a boat from a trailer would probably require a four-wheel drive vehicle.
There are actually four boats there. One was tied up to the dock and half-full of water. The other three are a small bass buster, a small aluminum boat, and a larger aluminum boat with a badly damaged transom. Bring a board if you plan to mount a motor to it.
The Three Sisters Restaurant was closed and appears to be out of business.
Fishing was very slow. We only caught one small bass after a morning of working the entire lake with a wide variety of worms, swim baits, crank baits, and spinner baits.
The area is beautiful.
