We fished Tue afternoon and all day Wed. at our new lake. First we stayed at the Holiday Express in Mt P. (15 Miles to the lake) Made rev. on line for $80.00 plus tax. BBQ and Applebee's next door. Good looking bartender to look at (we are in our 70's so you have to get your fun when you can). The final 150 Yards to the lake is still being worked on and is closed so it is a muddy walk to the lake.
RAIN, MUDDY WATER, WIND, DEAD BATT. VERY SQUEEKY SEATS, NEXT PERSON NEEDS TO TAKE A CAN OF WD-40…............ Are we two old men complaining NO NO NO GREAT TRIP LOVED ALL OF IT….We had 2 clean boats ready to go, A extra set of Batt. on the dock ready to go. It is a 24 volt sys. with a 80 HP foot controlled pedal. They last about 7 to 8 hours if you do a couple of 100% trips up and down the lake and fight the wind. When they go dead,it happens quick so be careful and it only takes a few min to change them out. Met the Lady of the house and the person who takes care of the boats, Very nice. OK, to the fishing…. The lake is full. We fished the whole lake and tried everything. We did not catch a fish on the brush piles or the points. (We both have been fishing for 60 years so we have a idea what to do) Lots of weeds a foot under the water. We hunted for them hard and finally found them on 2 bare banks and a few at the dam. We caught 49, 2 between 5 and 6 LBS, 15 between 4 and 5 and 20 3 to 4 lbs. ONLY 12 basket fish and 10 of them were over 2lbs. . Only 2 dinks. Fish are fat and put your rod tip in the water. I thru a Zara Spook and had 6 strikes with a 7 to 8 LB. coming out of the water after it and missed but only one hook up as they missed it several times. WOW. We both lost 2 fish over 7 with one getting caught up in the fish basket and broke 17 lb test. We didn't have time to cry, just tie on another bait and fish. We worked hard for the fish and caught most of them on 7 in green Senko's. 5/o Trokar hooks and POP R's Don't go cheap on anything, If you hit this lake just right, it could be the trip of a life time…. W are saving our S/S checks up so we can go again,. I sort of complained to Steve about the cost but I take it back, it was worth every penny. Thanks Steve and your crew for what you do for us….
