I started fishing at 6:00, and caught my first bass at 6:02:  a 4-pounder. At 6:10, I caught a 5-12. An excellent start, but that was it for the "big" ones today. My next 3 were a 3-12 and two 3-04s. Caught the first three fish on an old 1/2 oz. Mister Twister double-bladed buzz bait with a chartreuse and white shirt. My next 4 were all on either a Ribbit Frog or a Ribbit Top Toad. The frog bite was intermittent all day, but I had to get way back in the shallow pads and gunk to catch them after 9:30. Caught one 3-04 on a chartreuse and red tandem spin with gold willow leaf blades under the dock by the feeder. Only one 'keeper' bass on a black/blue fleck Senko, wacky-rigged. Harvested 4 dinks on wacky worm, Rattletrap, and buzz bait - all under 10" long. It was overcast all morning, but partly cloudy with 2 rain showers this afternoon. Winds varied from a steady 15-20 with gusts up to an estimated 40 mph - tough to fish in that. The property is in perfect shape, and the lake is full. Water temp varied from 83 to 85, and the visibility was 6-8 feet - very clear water. I was very surprised that the fish were no larger than they were; they sure fought like bigger fish.  I ended up with 14 bass, and the biggest 5 weighed 20 pounds even, which made for a pretty good day. I quit fishing at 4:00 p.m with worn out arms.
