Dropped off one of the kiddos at Girl Scout camp in Athens and was able to talk the wife into a 3-day kitchen pass!  Got on the lake a little after noon and met one of the owners mowing the grass.  A really nice place and very friendly people.  Third cast with a frog into the thick grass met with a 3.5 lb. fish.  About 10 casts later a nice 5.5 lb. fish.  After that it was crickets.  Well…..the bluegill loved the imitation crickets and the popper off the fly rod, but that was it.  Ended up culling 3 really runty bass.  Not even big enough to clean.  I felt really bad about it too, but I know they took one for the team.

Can't wait to take the kids there to catch bluegills. About 6pm, I was cooked…..a nice medium rare and needed a cold one.  Burning up Marriott points in Tyler and off to another lake tomorrow.  Thank you Seth for helping me plan this trip.
