I fished Yates for the first time the afternoon of 7-31 and morning of 8-1 with Cory Marver.  Cory, David Curtis and Tripp Snuggs have been talking about this lake for three years and for whatever reason this was my first trip there.  To say that I had the trip of my life is an understatement.  First, if you have not been to this amazing place, you are missing out.  Part of the experience is getting to spend time talking with Mr. Yates and learning about his life and the lake overall.  Secondly, the accomodations are the nicest in the club by far.  Mr. Yates is an amazing man and we are very fortunate to be able to access his gem of a property.  So, now to the fishing!  The five fish stringer was 8.75, 8, 7.5, 7, 6 and (3) 5 pounders.  We had a couple of 4s and 3s too.  We pulled six fish under 14" from the lake and out them in Mr. Yates fish trap.  All healthy and VERY active for a hot July full moon trip.  Selfishly, I wanted to keep this secret to myself.  That being said, ensuring everyone knows about Yates and the amazing experience it provides is special.  Pictured, in order, are the 8.75, 8 and 7.5.  Thank you for providing us this opportunity.

Trent, congratulations on an outstanding fishing trip! The Yates' Place is way up there on almost everyone's list, and now you know why. The fishing can be spectacular, and the host and lodging are among our best. 37.25 pounds for 5 fish is outstanding!

Those fish look huge - Better calibrate your scale.  You might be leaving a few pounds on the table.  It is an awesome lake and property owner!

Can't wait to get back!

Probably a PWF top 20 fishing report of all time. Congratulations! I have heard some good ones over the years, but this one is hard to beat.

Great Job Trent!

For those who may not know Trent,he began fishing with our group a few years back when we spoiled him by taking him to Meridian on his first trip to a club lake. Admittedly, Trent was somewhat of a novice to big bass fishing because he had grown up in the Midwest where fish just don't get as big as they do here. Well as you can tell, he became a quick study…..... Our many jokes at his expense only fueled the fire for his learning curve and his competitive nature wouldn't allow for him to dwell in mediocrity for very long.

Some of the many things I enjoy about fishing with Trent is his energy, his desire to learn and his excitement when he catches a fish of any size….... must less fish of these caliber. He has become a true competitor on each and every trip. He has out fished us on numerous occasions because he does all of the little things right.

It was only a matter of time before he had a day on the water like this one.

For me, this is what sharing the PWF experience is all about…....

Well done and well deserved Mr. Beagle!

That first fish has to be over 8.75!
