Fished here witha guest 8-7. Temps really, really hot as there was no breeze at all early on. As usual for this lake, we cleaned up on small bass with soft plastics but a fly rod makes these small bass a lot of fun. Very surprised that the top water bite was virtually non existent . Perfect conditions for topwater but they just were not interested. by 11:30 we had picked up about 30 bass between the two of us but nothing worked consistently. Seems like one color would work for a few fish and then stop, and so on and so on.

Fished by myself on 8-8 from 3:30 till dark and of course it was hot, full sun but a nice breeze. Caught small bass about everywhere i went on the lake using a mix of spinner baits, worms and crankbaits…silver rattle trap did well. The last hour though was very good. In all I caught 50 but only one over 1 1/2 lbs and that one went 10+lbs but of course no photo because i hooked it right at dusk along the dam in two feet of water as i was heading to the truck. I was more concerned about keeping it alive and releasing it than getting a photo…she swam off in good shape. My little scale said 10.75…put my fist in her mouth and had an inch to spare around it. Caught her and a lot others on grape or dark green 4” Ring Fry by Lake Fork
