This is a nice lake!  My first trip.

I caught several nice fish, and missed a few others.  I have a bad right shoulder right now and I'm having trouble setting the hook.  Ugh.

Over the limit fish include a 20" and several others between 15" and 17.5".  And then there were the culls, five fish under 10 inches.  Nothing in between.  The club must be doing a good job of harvesting.  All of the fish were very healthy and fought bigger than they were.  The 2-3 pounders could have been 7 or 8 lbs based on the fight.

The lake was fairly weedy like all the club lakes are this year, but not choked up, and 90% of the lake is fishable.  Water is slightly stained and clear to five feet.  The club boat is only a 10-footer, but it's in great shape and doesn't leak.  Great for one person, but would be too small for two.

Most of my fish wer caught at the edge of the weeds or pads on a weightless senko.  I did catch two off the marked brush pile just off the pier, and lost one on a tube.  See note about bad shoulder. The big one was on a chartreuse and black crankbait.  The bass were chasing dragonflies.  I saw several leap completely out of the water after the breeding dragonfly pairs.  Can you say breeching?  I hit the pads hard with a floating frog, sinking frog, tube, worm.  I only had two half-hearted strikes in the pads.  Not a bite on a popper.

Great morning.  Nice lake.  The cabin looks really nice also.

Tight lines!

Jim
