Member John Bedore and I got a chance to fish Bennett Lake this weekend. The weather was perfect and the bass were in a feeding frenzy. We caught 109 bass and 1 crappie in a good day of fishing. The bass were biting all over the lake and were hitting on lipless crankbaits, chatter baits, jerkbaits and soft plastics. They definitely were looking to chase the bait, so no worms, lizards or slow moving baits. The lake was still very high and the water color was deceptively clear (it looked murky at first glance). The biggest bass were well back into the coves. or just on the edge of points. most of the fish were solid keepers with 1.5-3 pound being the majority of the fish we caught with a few big ones like the 7 lb 11 ounce beauty in the picture.

Great report from a lake that often times goes unnoticed by those of us who are chasing bigger fish. Bennett is a gorgeous property with a great history.
Your photo certainly shows the weight and girth of the beauties that we are looking to start the season with. Good Job and congrats!
