We caught 27. Largest 8.5 caught by Brad within the first hour on the water. Brad should forward a pic. Worms, lizards, and then rattle traps on schooling fish all produced for us. Lake is full and in wonderful shape. Weather was nice all day with dead calm wind in the later afternoon. We hit tons of rains getting back to Dallas although after stopping for dinner. This property is one of the best in the club no doubt, and consistently produces Big Bass.

This was a great trip to get the fishing season started. I got the bug bad now! Looking forward to meeting some of you at Cody in April.

Tight lines to all.

Way to go, guys - what a great way to start your season! I'm hoping to do as well when I hit Yates Place on the 29th!

Water temps are jumping between 58 and 62, but can fluctuate 10 degrees this time of year. I would expect them to stay no warmer than 65 in North and East for the next 2 weeks. Houston, San Antonio, and Austin are already in the low 60's.  Night time lows in the 30's and 40's really keep the water cool. We are about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than normal. Spawn should be a bit earlier.

Great report!  Lake sounds fantastic.  I'm booked there March 7th.  What depth were the fish?

The 8.5 was about three feet from shore near the white drain pipe near the spillway. Most on plastic baits came within 5 to 10 feet from the north shore. The majority were caught schooling near the deep water point having the orange buoy off of the point by the house. The schooling activity was fast and furious at times.

Good luck on your trip. You may boat your personal best at this property so I suggest -  go prepared for that Big Bite!
