My son Mike (PWF member), Harold (guest from AZ) and I had a great weekend April 1-3 at Heartland 10-10 Ranch.  We stayed in the owners retreat Friday & Saturday night and it is quite the house.  Extremely comfortable and accommodating.  The fish mount in the entry is unbelievable.  And the taxidermied mounts from various hunting and fishing trips were fun to see.  Dr. Brown is a great host and we all enjoyed talking with him during the weekend about the history and make up of his ranch and all the lakes.  Friday night we grilled some great rib eye steaks and then sat around the fire pit and enjoyed the fire and all the deer rooming around the back yard.  A front came through Friday afternoon and it rained until about 8 pm.  Made fishing Saturday on Home Place challenging.  But we did catch 18 nice fish with Mike bringing in an 8 pound beauty despite high pressure and blue bird skies.  Most of the fish were caught on large flukes in the creek channel around timber.  We fished Leaky lake Sunday morning and caught 20 mostly in the 2-4 pound range.  We had luck with top water baits early, then used Senkos the rest of the morning.  Heartland is a place we plan on returning to again his year
