We had a wonderful trip to the Yates Place. We fished 2 half days on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Weather was perfect. We got a late start because we underestimated the time to get out there (the navigator's fault), but we got out around 4 and fished for a good 4 hours on Sunday evening. We caught ten fish and our biggest that broke my personal record - 9lbs 6oz. We caught all ten on Yamamoto and YUM Senkos and some assorted plastics.
The next morning we started at sunrise and the fishing was much better. We caught 22 fish and the biggest was caught by fellow club member Martin Gill - 7lbs. 2oz. he also caught a 5 and a slew of 1-3 pound fish. We figured out to bounce those Senkos off the bottom away from the shoreline at a slow pace and seemed to really start to engage those post spawning bass. Additionally, we harvested around 15 bass under 14 inches. I would highly recommend this place and Mr and Mrs. Yates are really nice people and we enjoyed meeting them as well.

Good fishing, and thanks for the report and photos, Douglas. How did you do with topwaters late evening and early morning?
My wife and I are making our annual pilgrimage to Yates Place for my birthday next Friday. Any other tips you can offer! Thanks!
