We have fished Yates Place twice before and we start salivating looking at all the big fish caught there and wishing we could catch one. Susan wanted to take me back to Yates Place for my birthday - of course I'm always ready to go there. One previous trip I caught 2 and my wife caught none. But on THIS trip, we caught 6 fish over 22 inches, and one was a bona fide 10 pounder!
My wife started it off with a 23.75 inch 9 pounder:
An hour later she had another one that spun her around in her seat:
This time it was a 10 pounder!!!
I got in on the action too. Two 7 pounders and this 9 pounder - my personal best!
I made a little video to commemorate our day:

So all in all, we had 6 fish over 22 inches. Much credit goes to DeWayne Yates - he recommended fishing a Senko very slowly. That worked. Four of the six biggest were on Senkos. And I caught two very nice fish that evening on topwaters.
Needless to say we look forward to going again as soon as possible. As a side note, Steve Alexander called after our trip to congratulate us and added that Susan's 10 pounder at 25.25 inches would put her in second place in the Big Bass contest if she were entered. And he said "we hear lots of fishing stories but this one ranks in the all time top 5 best." I certainly agree, Steve. It's our best ever. Thanks again to Steve, Seth, Keri and all the fine landowners who do such a great job hosting us.

Wow, what a haul. Way to go Susan and Larry! Two personal bests in one day. Congratulations on a fantastic day and what a wonderful birthday present. Memories for a lifetime. Larry, nice job on the video as well. I look forward to fishing there soon.
